I'm not trying to alarm you, but the messages I have been receiving about the coming New Year, revolve around drastic change, good and bad. How you are able to work with these forces will effect you through 2009. I am taking altar requests by phone through the 5th, in hopes to enhance or change the future events on your path. If you would like to try something on your own, to bring about positive changes using the alignment on January first, I have devised the following exercise, using a voodoo veve for good fortune.
You should print out the following image on your printer. Please enlarge it so it takes up half a sheet of paper:
On New Year's Day, you will need to trace and color the image on your own. Please do this in a room with silence, privacy and in a meditative way. You will need to focus on a desire you wish to achieve in the coming year. Whether you need a certain amount of money, a new job, to reunite with a lover or to bring a lover to you. You should envision your life as if the desire is already achieved. If your needs are financial, you should color the veve green. If your need is romantic, you should color the veve red or pink. If you need general good fortune, prosperity or to bring success to a new business, color it gold.
After you have finished coloring your veve and have envisioned your future, you will need to cut it out. On the back, you will need to write down exactly what your desire is. You will need to put 3 pinces of salt over the words you have written. You will need to fold it up so the salt does not spill out.
You will need to light a candle and sit in a darkened room, with only the candle flame as light. Please make sure you have silence and privacy. You will need to stare into the candle flame and envision your future when your desire is achieved. You will hold your folded veve in your right hand as you are staring into the flame. Please meditate no less than 15 minutes, longer is fine. When you are finished, blow out the candle.
You will need to carry the veve on your person until the coming full moon. In the U.S., the moon will be full January 11th. On the night of the full moon, you will need to repeat your meditation with the candle, for at least 15 minutes with your veve in your right hand. See your future in the candle flame. Under the light of the full moon, you will need to bury your veve at the base of a plant that you take care of. It can be a tree or potted plant, just one that you attend personally.
With this, your desire is sealed. You can expect to see events bring your desire into your life over the week following this ritual.
UPDATE: So many people missed the powerful alignment on the first, to draw into their lives what they desire in 2009. From the emails I received, it was a combination of reasons. Either they were just hoping that everything will change on its own (without them having to pursue their desires), or they were too caught up in believing nothing will change, and then of course, if you believe that, nothing will. So, the Universe is giving us a second chance on the 26th. There will be a powerful new moon solar eclipse in Aquarius, conjoining Jupiter. It's not as powerful as the alignment of the first, but its powerful enough to change your future path to a positive one. You can follow the same instructions and use the veve for fortune, or one of these I have prepared for you. You will begin at the new moon and work until full, following the same instructions I gave for the New Year alignment:
