I ran a resume-writing business under Archietech in the year 2000-2001 in tandem with Toronto.com. I have seen hundreds of resumes and can tell you which one will get the job and which one will not.
I used to have my clients fill up a questionnaire for me, which I subsequently translate into a breathing, attention-grabbing job-magnet-of-a-tool. In some cases, my clients opt to have some thumbnail graphics on their two-pagers. In most cases (especially resumes of bankers and other corporate individuals), it is the skillful use of words that win the day!
Now I intend to adapt my successful model over the phone. You give me a call, and I do your resume while we're both on the line! It saves you time (no need to head downtown and wait for that guy with thick glasses print out your resume, yeah, the one who thinks you have too much time in your hands!)and before you know it--your resume is done!
Here are the steps we will both go through to get that resume done in no time:
>>>>>>You give me your directions on the phone
>>>>>>I take them down during our conversation
>>>>>>You can email me your directions or previous resume
>>>>>>I email you back the resume draft in MS Word
>>>>>>We get back on the phone to discuss any revisions
It's that easy!
