I have been anorexic and bulimic over 20 years. I know how we think- the secrets/routines no one could EVER understand. I had been under therapy for years. I now understand (no help from the eating disorder clinics/hospitals) that the only people who can help are those who KNOW the thoughts, body image distortion and self-punishment we go through daily- in short- people who battle with this every day. We can only ask for reprieve, but hope springs eternal (yeah, right- but it does!) when you know YOU ARE NOT ALONE or a guinea pig taking Prozac, Zoloft etc. I UNDERSTAND- there are no judgements here; none are acceptable. We need someone who has the same cross you bear- the social stigma and how this affects your life, job and relationships. I UNDERSTAND. I KNOW. Please call. We can talk through anything.
