As truckers’ wives, we worry about many things, such as: how to take care of emergencies that may arise while our hubbies are on the road, are our men OK out there, and what in the world are they eating in those truck stops? As a trucker’s wife, I am especially concerned about my husband eating right, having enough to eat and being able to eat and run simultaneously if he needs to.

Truck stop food gets monotonous and boring. Canned food starts tasting like cat food. Trucker cannot live by sandwiches alone. What’s a wife to do?

I’m glad that you asked that question, because I believe that I have the answer for you. You’ve got to cook anyway, so why not cook a little extra and freeze it for your husband? This is exactly what I do for my husband and I want to share these recipes of mine with you. I will include recipes, freezing tips and reheating tips for you and your man.

There is NO reason why a trucker should eat greasy over- or undercooked foods or making the fast food conglomerates richer by the day. There’s no reason why, at least part of the time, your husband cannot enjoy YOUR good cooking while he’s working on the road.

As truckers’ wives, we’re in it for the long haul, but that doesn’t mean that we cannot find ways for our men to take a little bit of home in their big rigs.
