Experienced system administrator (since 1994) of the Linux(tm) operating system, familiar with Ubuntu, Debian, RedHat, and more for desktop, server, and cluster computing environments. I am one of the founding advisory board for the Linux Professional Institute, and hold certificates for UNIX and Linux System administration from Brainbench. My cluster clients include Los Alamos National Laboratory, Dahlgren Naval Surface Warfare, American Museum of Natural History, and Wyeth Pharmaceutical, and I have placed two Linux cluster computers on the list of Top 500 Supercomputers.
I can help you troubleshoot problems with all aspects of desktop (including installation, X, kernel compilation, driver debugging, wireless, audio), as well as server configuration (networking, apache, sendmail, etc.).
My free advice is that Ubuntu is very close to the way to go for almost every situation these days, but I look forward to helping you if you're in a jam.
