mowence   Dog problems - problem dogs - and what you can do
All dog problems are man made - and they all have a solution

All dog problems are man made - and they all have a solution!

If you experience a problem with your dog, chances are your dog also has a problem with you… and my bet is that this is the main reason for your problem! But this also means that the solution might only be a phone call away!

If you experience any of these problems:

  • Separation anxiety
  • Hyperactivity
  • Snapping or biting people
  • Other aggressive or threatening behavior to people
  • Incessant barking, whining, or howling
  • Destructive behavior (chewing on furniture etc.)
  • Peeing or pooping indoors
  • Pulling on the leash
  • Ignoring your recall
  • Any other kind of disobedience or training not working
  • Any kind of conflict you have with the training advice you got from others

- then you have a good reason to give me a call!

The root to a workable solution is always that you understand your dog's nature and its needs - and that you take full advantage of this knowledge and provide an environment for the dog that will make it behave in a desirable way.

Please understand that trying to get somebody else to solve a behavioral problem is doomed to fail! You have to do it yourself, otherwise, it will plain simply not work! Your dog is not a programable robot - and it is most definitely smart enough to tell the difference between you and a professional trainer. So - you will be its trainer!

I do not believe that there exists a problem that has no solution. You may not always like all details of the solution - but you are always far better off at least knowing what you can do….

You may also have some work to do - but instead of spinning your wheels on things that don't give the results you want, both you and your dog are far better off with your having a plan that makes sense. I know - if it does not make sense to you, you will not do it, so I will make sure it makes sense to you. And, if your training does not make sense to the dog, it won't work - but I can help you understand what you need to do to make your dog understand what you want.

It is my philosophy that all training and behavioral modification must take place on the dog's terms of communication - but in accordance with your goals and desires!

One of the most important needs for all dogs is a strong leader in their pack - and this means that you have no reason to put up with unacceptable behavior! The real challenge is to get this communicated to your dog in Dog Language.

I can help you with that - if you call me, that is.

I have more than 30 years' experience training dogs, dog owners, and dog trainers in all areas of practical training, including general manners and simple house problems, competition training, search & rescue training, trick training, nosework, agility, service dog training - plus a whole bunch of special assignments as private consultant and manager of my dog training schools.

Feel free to check me out - you are very welcome to do it!

When you call, please be prepared for me having to spend some time first on understanding what exactly the problem is. I cannot and will not dish out "standard solutions" without knowing all the details that could have an influence on the problem and the possible workable solutions. It is extremely important that you are completely honest to me about the circumstance of the problem - my advice will be BS if I have a wrong impression of what is going on….

Please also understand that my solutions will not include any form of violence, pain, or abuse of your dog. It is not necessary to use such means - and they are always ineffective in the long run or have totally unacceptable side effects.

Just to make sure you are fully aware of this: I will not give advice over the phone on how to train a dog to bite people, or how you can train it to be "sharp" for yard protection or similar purposes.

(I must also add that there are cases of severe aggression and other dangerous work I will have to refer to private consulting, on a live basis, either by myself or by someone else. Those cases are rare, though.)

As I said earlier: most dog problems are man made - and once you start correcting the reason for the problem, the problem will also work itself towards a solution. Comprehending the true nature of the problem is thus a giant step towards a solution.

Please understand that I will be your dog's advocate - but I want your dog to get the pack leader I know it deserves!

Good leaders don't procrastinate - they take action.

I look forward to talking to you!

Cheers,

Mogens Eliasen
