Who am I?
I am a PHP/MySQL developer with five years experience in web development and computer programming. I have completed projects ranging from the login-authentication of users for a web-based internet community to the total design of a database-driven internet directory of dining and nightlife locations. My overall knowledge of the syntax and implementation of procedural and object oriented PHP is extensive.
What is my current project?
Currently, I am involved with the development and implementation of mylocalhotspots.com, a directory of individual dinning and nightlife locations in the gulf south. For a fee, individual companies receive a database-driven website connected to a community of registered users, which they are able to self-administer through their HotSpots account. This service is currently in an early beta phase, but even without full functionality is proving itself as a useful tool for the promotion of member locations.
In the course of my involvement with this project, I continue to be responsible for the development of MySQL databases containing company information, customers, coupons, events, statistics, and related data. I am also charged with the creation of PHP code to deliver and retrieve this data for our users and member locations. As this project evolved, we have written procedural code and then rewritten sections to utilize objects, providing me with a keen insight of their relative advantages and disadvantages.
How can I help you?
My practical experience with PHP and MySQL, combined with my academic training as a Computer Engineering undergraduate at Tulane University, qualify me to answer any questions you may have regarding the structure of database driven websites or to design a custom application for you.
