'Born with a veil' in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, Bambi's mother, Vivienne, was told by the doctor that her daughter would have 'second sight'. Indeed she was blessed with a gift of dreams and visions that have been ongoing since her birth.
Her first encounter and realization of this gift was on a Sunday after church when the church members were gossiping and making small talk. As Bambi was revealing unknowns to one of the ladies, her mother insisted it was time to leave, and led her to the car. Once in private, Vivienne warned her never to reveal such insights to anyone ever again, or the family might be 'tarred and feathered and run out of town'.
