Neptune entered Pisces on April 4, 2011 the sign it rules making it the second major astrological shift less than 30 days, following Uranus’ entrance into Aries on March 11, 2011.
Astrologically, this is a very big deal, and will bring about a major shift in energy in our lives and in the world.
Neptune changes signs only about every 15 years, and this is the first time this most confusing planet will enter the sign of it’s rulership in 163 years. This spring (2011) it only poked it’s head into the sign Pisces from April 4-August 4, 2011. On August 5, it retrogrades back into Aquarius until February 2012 for a final 5 month stay in that sign. February of 2012 it enters the sign Pisces until January 2026.
Neptune in Pisces enters its own realm-that is, the sign which it rules, making its entrance and stay into that sign stronger than the previous signs. Planets are always stronger in the sign they rule and Neptune’s qualities will manifest in a more direct and powerful way in the immediate future.
So what are Neptune qualities? Neptune rules psychics and the psychic realm, spirituality, religion, mystics and the metaphysical world. It rules religion, church, preachers, wiccans, and all other religious/metaphysical groups and ideas. Neptune is the ‘one-ness,’ that connects us all to the realm of life’s mysteries. Neptune rules the cinema and creativity, art and all creative ventures. It also rules the ‘seamy,’ side of life-drugs, alcoholic, drug dealers, prostitutes and drug addicts as well as drugs/medicine and addicts of all types. With Neptune we can soar to the highest of highs and or sink to the lowest of lows. It is the most misunderstood of planets and sometimes even astrologers tend to overlook it. It is the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion. When Neptune is in a chart, natally or transiting, there is always the potential of situations that are overlooked or blown out of proportion. This is more likely to happen with the ‘hard,’ aspects of Neptune, but can occur with the easier ones as well.
Pisces is the natural ruler of the twelfth house of the zodiac. That is, the subconscious mind, and things that are secret and hidden, jails and institutions. Neptune will conjunct Chiron, the ‘wounded healer,’ bringing out our woundedness as a society and on a collective basis. We are at risk nationally and globally of being swayed in the wrong direction, and looking at things incorrectly, whether it be politics, the state of the world or our own affairs. But, we will be forced to see the woundedness of the world we live in. By seeing the wounded souls around the world we have the potential to bring about change.
Neptune in this sign shows large groups of people who will be greatly disadvantaged and disenfranchised. It will also bring a time when religion, or that which poses as religion becomes important, and many religions will wither become reinvigorated, or die out altogether. Fundamentalist religions of more than one top may rise.
On another level are about to enter a time where we may get in touch with ourselves and the world on a spiritual level that has not been possible before. This will be the time we can look at the world in which we live and see our woundedness as individuals and as a society and make changes that will lead to a more balanced and connected life.-This is the great possibility Neptune in Pisces will hold.
Radioactive and contaminated water
Neptune in Pisces will relate to water. At this time we are dealing with Japan’s nuclear disaster and the issue of radioactive substances leaking into the water. This problem holds the potential for a disaster that is bigger than the news media is presenting. Scientists have estimated it will take 50 years to clean up the Gulf from 2010’s BP disaster. These issues cannot be swept under the rug, and if we fail to see the implications, the world will suffer. Those responsible for such actions must be held accountable. If we are going to use nuclear energy the world must learn from this tragedy and reactors must be built in such a way to contain nuclear substances no matter what occurs. Water related disasters, both natural and man made will present issues in the world in the near future again. It is estimated by 2015 we will start to be at risk of running out of drinking water in parts of the world. At that time Saturn will square Neptune, and we will be faced again with issues about our most important natural resource. As Uranus in Aries crosses the ‘World Point,’ we are only at the beginning of this crisis period and it will involve water.
The Coming Uranus-Pluto Square and Neptune
As Uranus advances in the sign Aries it squares Pluto in Capricorn creating situations around the globe that are explosive and hold the potential to involve plutonium and radioactive substances, or gasses. Uranus-Pluto represents issues and power struggles with the ‘powers that be,’ whether they are individuals, mufti-national companies or governments. This transit is indicative of sudden explosions that may involve man made or natural disasters that involve water in some way. Our water supply is at risk. Planets don’t have to be exact for events to occur and the square actually began when Uranus entered Aries mid-March. It reaches a peak June-August, a time we are at greatest risk. The square will return numerous times until 2016. We are seeing the events of this square play out in the Middle East, with coups and revolutions in many countries. With Uranus in Aries entities and individuals will clash over the theme of freedom. Uranus will be in Aries for seven years and when it leaves the Middle East will be a different place one way or another. Neptune in Pisces will emphasize our human-ness and connectedness. As one world we have an opportunity to bond with others and help those less fortunate live a dignified and free life. But, the path will never be easy and freedom is never free. (4-4-2011)
