Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn't know you left open. ~John Barrymore
Today where I live, the universe is cleansing the earth with the angel’s tears. I spent yesterday afternoon cleaning up the garden spot, checking the lawn for bare spots that need seed , strawed as fall is here. As winter starts to creep in slowly, when the earth hibernates to rest, to rejuvenate, to restore Mother Earth’s strength, beauty, we can almost hear its sigh of relief. Even the dirt settles down, where the dust once flew, now is moist, more pliant , more ready to accept new seeds. We, as people, get so upset when we start to feel like nothing is moving, nothing is shaking, we are in a resting mode, the situation, the other person is in hibernation, in hermit mode. We forget that this is when the seeds planted is being absorbed, being brought to life, much as a pregnancy in women. Spirit was talking to us about this time of waiting. We, ourselves, often ponder over a situation, in fact, most of us overanalyze, overthink, second guess ourselves about this situation. We don’t do anything about the bully at work, our family member who has hurt us, agonizing over the situation about what is the right thing to do. We think should we do this, say that, not doing anything at all until we are sure we can handle the situation with grace, love, in the most peaceful way possible. We; however, when we have to wait while he/she, while the boss, while our family member sits quiet, not talking become agitated, unhappy. The thing is while we weren’t looking, spirit was working on that door left open, not closed, but no one coming in quite yet, happiness will walk in.
Animal totems: As I turned over a plant pot yesterday, several nice earthworms that would have been great for fishing is I was a fisherman popped up. From linsdomain: When Earthworm appears, it is time to work over all we have been experiencing, a time to examine and digest what has occurred in our life. Then we can cast off what is not beneficial or necessary – clean house emotionally. This allows new growth.Earthworm also reminds us that no matter how small our efforts seem, we are reshaping the earth around us. The past (including past lives) influences the present and the future.Unless we recognize and acknowledge the past,we can repeat the same mistakes.earthworm also cautions about putting ourselves into a vulnerable position. We need to be careful when before throwing ourselves wholeheartedly into something new. Do not react hastily. Work over the old before starting anything new.Earthworm reminds us that no matter how difficult things might have been, new growth and new hope awaits us.
