Lady Hope - Gifts of Hope

Groovy spots of sunlight!
Make bill paying easier and less stressful!

I really have a difficult time with paying my bills. I dread sitting down to do so and at times have had anxiety over the budget. I really hate when money goes out to electricity and other things that are not so tangible. A couple of months ago I read a blurb in Guideposts , uplifting spiritual magazine, to work on making that time more positive. I thought well what do I have to lose? I tried it and it is helping a lot more then I ever thought.

As you pay your bills think of the gratitude you have to those people who are providing that service to you. I usually say it aloud as I tear out my check and have thought about it, or I pay the bill online and hit the send button. For instance, the phone company, Thank you for the people who work for this, phone company, and who make sure I have great service so that I am able to get in touch with those I love plus give me communication when I am in need. Thank you so much. Electric-Thank you for the people who help provide me heat in the winter, coolness in the summer and work 24hrs to ensure I have my computer, thank goodness!! Thank you for all their talents and families support. You can make it as elaborate or simple as you want.

It really is helping me and I mentioned it to my doctor as well. He said "my family complains because I get really grumpy when I do the monthly bill paying. I am going to give it a shot as well." I have especially  noticed that I don't dwell on it like I was doing previously. It really is changing my attitude so I thought maybe someone out there in Keen land may want to give it a shot.

I do like this one!  I have been trying it myself.  I keep trying to feel the gratitude of someone having faith enough in my bill paying ability.  I like the way you take it even further, right down to the employees.  It's definitely worth a shot and will give it a go next round:-)  Thanks for this!

Much love,

Your welcome Maryann, if it helps one person I it makes me happy. It is interesting as I did this the second month, I found myself more in connection to the employees. Then I could put myself in their shoes, to some extent, so it wasnt just a bill but also related to all those families. And when you start doing that, you see and feel that connection of how we all interconnect. I didnt expect that at all.

I am sure without a doubt that this makes a difference and what a great reminder to get into sync with again. We tend to get (caught) in the swirling energy rather than the gratitude mode.
I am grateful for this information.

Much Love,

Lady Hope, I have been going through a rough time with my utilities.  Finally, after MONTHS of arguing with each and every one of them, it was found that ALL of the underground wiring was faulty. Workmen came out, dug up my yard and replaced the cables in a couple of days.  One of those days, we had horrible storms, but they wanted to get the job done as it has been almost a year of problems.
When I pay the bills now, I recall what they did for me and I don't complain anymore.
So thanks, for bringing this to light and sharing your wisdom with us today!  Cheryl

Yes Donna, you are right, so easy to get caught up in that tense energy. Give this a try and tell me if it helps, I would be interested in hearing if you come up with something more to add to it.

Cheryl, That sounds like unbelievable grief during the period of figuring it out. Curious, did they ever compensate you expense wise?

Its so expensive right now and it appears to raise every year but I do know a lot of those folks are working around the clock and in all sorts of weather. Its super hot here today and I sure wouldnt want to be a top a pole right now. So easy to forget there are a lot of people who count on our money to provide for their families and it is not their fault the prices keep rising. Bet some of them have only cost of living raise. Especially the folks, who work the offices and deal with the problems, yet have no idea how the wiring works lol.Been there, done that! Haven't we all had a job like that.

this is interesting and it does sound less stressful

Thank you. I find it interesting as well. I do want to add, although I have only done it through two bill periods, that I have noticed an easier time paying the bills as in, money being there when I need it, or a way to balance it.  Could this be because of the intent? I do not know.

I was compensated and the cable company had to fill in my yard where there was a big hole.
I also find that when I interject a little humor in speaking with the Cusotmer service reps on the phone, my call get handled so much differenlty than if I yell and get more flies withhoney than you do with vinegar isn't their fault afterall!

I have to admit, in the past, I have always handled things with honey but for a while now I rant and rave. Especially if its someone with a certain accent, I am poor at accents and deceiphering, and I have to repeat myself three times to get any point across. I fear its an outlet for me, as of late. Use to be so super nice I would always get walked on.

Right now we have a bill with a problem, we never got our first statement and they attached late fees. I found this out when they called to ask where our payment was. I was in shock as we had been looking for that bill to come. Did you know when something like this happens you have to "write" not call to keep from getting calls and expectation of payment? I read the fine print.

I think some of this service, of pay me now, instead of negotiate and help me come up with a payment plan has really affected the strain of paying bills. It adds to the stress of it and makes it such an unpleasant experience. I really feel we are so fed up. Now this is funny, but I am looking forward now to paying my bills this week, more since this discussion to see if I can make this turn around for me.

Thank you Gifted for letting me know. I paid some bills last night but was so harried, from another issue, I didn't use this on 2 of them, then I slowed down and used it on the 2nd two. Takes a while for me to get a habit going. Doing this process helped me slow down and think gratitude which enabled me to become less harried.

It fascinates me how something like this changes your attitude. So simple.
