I really have a difficult time with paying my bills. I dread sitting down to do so and at times have had anxiety over the budget. I really hate when money goes out to electricity and other things that are not so tangible. A couple of months ago I read a blurb in Guideposts , uplifting spiritual magazine, to work on making that time more positive. I thought well what do I have to lose? I tried it and it is helping a lot more then I ever thought.
As you pay your bills think of the gratitude you have to those people who are providing that service to you. I usually say it aloud as I tear out my check and have thought about it, or I pay the bill online and hit the send button. For instance, the phone company, Thank you for the people who work for this, phone company, and who make sure I have great service so that I am able to get in touch with those I love plus give me communication when I am in need. Thank you so much. Electric-Thank you for the people who help provide me heat in the winter, coolness in the summer and work 24hrs to ensure I have my computer, thank goodness!! Thank you for all their talents and families support. You can make it as elaborate or simple as you want.
It really is helping me and I mentioned it to my doctor as well. He said "my family complains because I get really grumpy when I do the monthly bill paying. I am going to give it a shot as well." I have especially noticed that I don't dwell on it like I was doing previously. It really is changing my attitude so I thought maybe someone out there in Keen land may want to give it a shot.
