It is like saying, \u201cHey, Higher Power, thanks for\nthe family and friends in my life,\u201d without fully acknowledging why you are\ngrateful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gratitude with mindfulness\nsounds more like, \u201cHigher Power, thank you from the bottom of my heart for\nallowing me to know the love of a true friend.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When Times Get Tough<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The hardest time to\npractice gratitude is when we are going through the most difficult times in our\nlives. When our hearts are broken, or we feel defeated, it can be very\ndifficult to find any gratitude, much less, the words to express it. But, this\nis when we really need to be practicing gratitude the most! When you feel\noverwhelmed and unable to find anything to be thankful for, focus on just one\nsimple thing that is good in your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Try stating is as an\naffirmation: \u201cHigher Power, thank you for placing the perfect people in my life\nthat are supporting me through this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Be Grateful for You!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe it is easier for you\nto state one good thing that you like about yourself.&nbsp; I know it can sometimes be very hard to find\neven one simple thing. There was a point in my life where I was totally\ndepleted and struggling to find even one good thing to say about myself.&nbsp; A friend of mine told me to start at the top\nof my head and work down until I discovered something about myself that I felt\nwas doing even ok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of this exercise\nI was able to say my earlobes were good.&nbsp;\nThey sat there on my head holding a nice pair of earrings and they did\nthat task very well.&nbsp; The Law of\nAttraction kicked in, and soon I was able to identify more things that I was\nvery grateful for.
