As a psychic who also works with astrology, I am constantly asked to help clients understand their relationship patterns. Your astrological chart can actually show you what qualities in a mate are best for you — beyond just examining Venus and Mars. The Juno asteroid is one key to success in a long-term relationship<\/a>. Understanding what this heavenly body really says about you or another is vital to striking the right combination for lasting love.<\/p>\n

Who Is Juno?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Juno, a Roman goddess, was was the wife (and sister!) of Jupiter. She was the patron goddess of marriage, childbirth, and women\u2019s sexuality. She was the initiator of women into the rites of marriage. Juno was honored for her loyalty and beauty and was an example of the ideal wife. She is often thought of as the Roman equivalent of Hera, also the goddess of women\u2019s issues and marriage. The month of June — when many weddings take place — is named in connection with the goddess Juno.<\/p>\n

Juno in the astrological chart describes your style of relating, compatibility<\/a>, and intimacy needs, specifically in the context of a primary relationship or marriage. Her energy is applicable for men or women.<\/p>\n

Venus and Mars Want to Date — Juno Wants to Mate<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many astrology sources focus on Venus and Mars in the chart to signify relationships. Venus describes how you show love and what type of energy you need to feel validated. For men, Venus may show the feminine qualities you find attractive. Mars is the key to our sexual expression, and often, for women, shows the type of male qualities to which you are drawn. Both planets reveal, in terms of relationships, who you are likely to be attracted to, and what you are likely to find in dating situations. They signify the above qualities regardless of sexual orientation.<\/p>\n

But who we date doesn\u2019t always end up being our spouse or partner for life. This is where Juno enters the story.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Consider my client, Julia. She had been married for six years to a man she was passionately attracted to. They had powerful connections between her Mars and his Venus. But beyond the passion, she felt completely unnourished by her husband. After their divorce, she dated for a time and had another three-year relationship to a man who was very different in personality, but the pattern was the same — there was passion but no real connection. Julia ended the union and was now involved with a new man, but the pattern was emerging again. She was at her wit\u2019s end.<\/p>\n

This is a strong sexual placement and led to her attracting strong, masculine men with whom the sex was always great. But her Juno was in Cancer. This revealed that she needed a mate who was emotionally nurturing, interested in home and family, and a bit softer than the men she was currently attracting. She had to look past her immediate sexual attractions to the super-masculine type of guy and be open to seeing a different sort of man. Of course, her Venus was still going to want a strong sexual connection, but when we talked about her Juno, she had quite an \u201caha!\u201d moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never really let myself believe that I could have a nurturing mate,\u201d she confessed. \u201dI guess I thought that was my job.\u201d<\/p>\n
