When my career as a psychic reader first started, I used to have imposter syndrome - even though I'd had many psychic experiences and had quite a bit of experience under my belt before doing readings professionally.
While growing up, my family was more focused on education, sports and music. So any otherworldly experiences were kept to myself.
Something like having psychic abilities would've been seen as being foolish.
When I left home in my late teens to go into the big world, other than college and various jobs, I started studying astrology and mysticism. I also began to meditate daily.
My first career was as a working pro musician - but I always maintained my tarot, astrology and spiritual practices.
My professional career as a reader started with people in my local new age bookstore requesting tarot readings.
I felt like an imposter at first because all of the readers there were women - and I’m basically a down to earth guy into sports and guitar.
Despite my initial strong resistance, the Universe wore me down and I found myself doing tarot readings.
My tarot readings are combined with my psychic abilities. I've discovered that tarot helps to keep the readings structured and clear, and prevents me from projecting my own biases into the readings.
I started to get busy with 1:1 readings in my local area. I also began to get requests for reading parties. Private parties, corporate parties, large and small.
A friend told me about Keen in 2006 and I applied and was accepted. All told, I've now done thousands of 1:1 readings and scores of reading parties over a 20+ year period since it all started back at the New Age bookshop.
I'm also a Reiki master, crystal healer, life coach, meditation teacher and I teach tarot.
