Hello, my name is Megan, and welcome to the Southern Oracle! My mother recently reminded me that spiritual practice has been part of my life since before I was born. My grandmother, an intuitive psychic medium, channel, and tarot reader, ran a Psychic Center in the East Bay throughout the '90s. In the late '80s, my mother, a practicing Wiccan and empath, and my grandmother both took classes at the Berkeley Psychic Institute, where they communicated with my spirit before I was even born.
Growing up in my grandmother's Psychic Center was a truly magical experience. My childhood was infused with the rich scents of incense, sage, and palo santo, while crystals adorned every surface, and Native American flute music played softly in the background. A small library filled with books on occultism in all its forms further deepened my spiritual surroundings. The center was a hub for mystics, astrologers, Reiki healers, seers, and other lightworkers, and I was immersed in their wisdom from an incredibly young age.
By the time I was two, I was already giving energy healings and seeing auras—my mother often recounts this. I have vivid memories of offering energetic healings in my grandmother’s spiritual classes when I was just 2 or 3 years old. In the early '90s, I attended a psychic preschool called "Yin-Yang" in Berkeley, where I learned meditation, grounding techniques, and how to read auras.
My journey with the Tarot began at 12 years old in 2001, when my grandmother gifted me my first deck (Aleister Crowley/Freida Harris's "Thoth" deck, which I use to this day). At first, I treated the Tarot as a fun novelty, but as I practiced and witnessed its accuracy, it became clear that the messages I was receiving held real power and insight.
Throughout my college years, I balanced my studies in acting and psychology with a growing passion for Tarot. I did readings for friends, clients, and anyone who was curious about my gifts, eventually gaining a reputation for providing meaningful guidance. Despite a thriving career in the arts—acting, modeling, and even working in immersive theater—I couldn’t shake the feeling that something vital was missing.
In 2008, I experienced a spiritual awakening that deepened my understanding of my intuitive gifts and set me on a path of deeper study and practice. By 2015, I began reading professionally, providing Tarot services at private parties, corporate events, weddings, and one-on-one client sessions. It was during my Saturn return in 2016—a transformative time in my life—that I realized my soul’s purpose is to help others find clarity, healing, and connection.
Through these experiences I came to realize that a large part of my soul’s contract here on earth is to help others. Having seen the tarot unravel mysteries before my own eyes, providing catharsis for those who's soul is troubled or unable to let go. I have seen clarity dawn over the faces of my clients as they come to realize something important about themselves or a specific situation. The tarot is designed to mirror various psychological states of being, as well as archetypes of human experience. The way the cards fall however... is divine guidance. The probability of drawing the same card twice in a row would be 1 in 78, or approximately 1.3%. That's just in a "one card" spread. This means that every full card reading is entirely unique, like a snowflake.
If you are seeking guidance on a situation that feels challenging, or if you wish to reconnect with your intuition and invite spiritual support on your soul’s journey, both the Tarot and I are here to assist you.
